Dancing for the Arts-Take II
Last year was so much fun, we were asked to do it again! So here goes Take II!
Ten new Rochester celebrities are busily practicing their dancing skills paired with professional dancers in the Rochester Arts Council's "FUN-raising" event Dancing for the Arts-Take II to benefit youth arts education. And all this happens on Saturday, April 13th, 2013 in the Mayo Civic Center Exhibit Hall.
In this time of tight budgets in schools, too often the first area cut is the arts. For our youth to have a chance at a productive and creative life, arts education is vital. With dancing currently the #1 activity in the country, the pairing of arts education and dancing is a natural. And for those organizations/individuals who wish to apply for funding to provide a unique arts education experience for our youth, we have a Grant Application Form for you.
Check out the pictures and bios of our Celebrity Dancers and then vote for your favorite(s)! As good as our Celebrity Dancers might be, they are even better because they are paired with Professional Dancers from Dahl Dance Center. So check out the bios and pictures of our professional dancers as well. Who knows? You might just want to sign up for lessons yourself! Especially after you are entertained by the UMR Ballroom Dancers and April & Gary Dahl!
Give your favorite(s) a pre-event boost as you cheer them on with your votes. Mail in or Fax our Pre-Event Voting Form. Each vote is only $10, and there is no limit to voting. Remember that all proceeds raised from voting (both pre-event and at the event) will benefit youth arts education.
If you want to vote online using a secure credit card system-go back to our homepage (or even to the left of this page) and follow the directions for the GiveMN.org button.
But how in the world is anyone going to judge all the celebrity dancing talent, you ask? Have no fear. Our three intrepid Celebrity Judges are back for one more time, and after you read their bios you'll know why they are still perfect for the job.
So what are you waiting for? It's as easy as 1. 2. 3.
