This boutique winery will charm you the moment you step through the door. You will be welcomed with a keepsake engraved wine glass for your tasting pleasure, followed by a relaxing tasting experience, with coffehouse style music, cheese and crackers and good conversation. During your visit, feel free to wander back to the tank room, the peaceful space where these SE MN grown grapes ferment, age and are bottled to bring you a truely MN GROWN, minimally processed wine. The Post Town Winery is located on the west edge of Rochester, MN just West of the intersection of Hwy 14 and West Circle Drive near the end of the North Frontage Road. The winery tasting room is also available for small private events with or without a tasting.

Collaborating with dancers from Janet Lang Studio, CAE will perform Benjamin Britten's evocative, playful, touching Rejoice in the Lamb, plus a brand-new work by local composing genius Kevin Dobbe that uses motion-generated tones--movements by dancers, choir, and even audience will all contribute to a shared music-making celebration!

"Fascinating Rhythm" is a tribute to the genius of brothers George and Ira Gershwin, whose music and words changed, shaped and defined American music more than any other writing team in the nation's history. John Helmers narrates a script written by Laurie Helmers that shares biographical information and interesting anecdotes intertwined with medleys of the brothers' unforgettable tunes for stage, screen and radio as performed by vocalists Laurie Helmers and Tom Overlie. Jan Matson accompanies and also performs a solo segment of George's incomparable "Rhapsody in Blue."

Tickets are $10 for the general public and will be sold at the door. It's going to be a night filled with fun and great music! You might even get to see a riff-off a la Pitch Perfect! Details: The list of concerns: temperatures rising, arctic ice melting, coral reefs bleaching, wildfires increasing, tropical storms escalating. What is the responsibility of the community? Is there a moral component to the decision? Do our values offer any guidance? Listen and discuss the ethical dilemma of where we are headed if we continue to misuse our environmental resources. Our instructor, Edward Cohen, attended Purdue University and the University of Wisconsin at Madison. He is certified in the field of residential and commercial energy auditing. Ed has a history with both the public and private sectors in energy conservation, energy efficiency, solar energy, waste minimization and recycling. He is Vice Chair of the City of Rochester Energy Commission and a steering committee member of CERTS, the Clean Energy Resource Team.

Details: This movie is an insightful film that tells the tale of the lowly and undervalued source of fertility, called “dirt,” upon which we trod. Learn how profit and industrial pursuits have contributed to the degradation of soil. This film is both serious and humorous, with the sharing of expert’s stories that study and harness the power and beauty of this humble matter. What a wonderful way to celebrate Earth Day reflecting on how we benefit from our mutual relationship with soil. Our facilitator, Sister Joy Barth, is active in ecological ministries at Assisi Heights.
