Choral Arts Ensemble will celebrate our vibrant cultural tapestry with music inspired by these farflung countries of origin, first examining the older Native American, Scandinavian and German strands, then exploring and enjoying more recent interweavings from Africa, Eastern Europe, Asia and Central America.

Details: Come express your creative energy. Discover different ways to use art in journaling. Art jounaling can be an outlet for expressing your dreams, thoughts and feelings. Bring a journal that will open flat and will work for drawing and coloring. Please bring your own colored pencils or markers.

Mandalas for Kids - Ages 8-13

Details: Mandalas are evident in a spider web, cross-sections of a tree trunk and the petals of the dandelion. They are an ancient circular symbol for wholeness and harmony. This fun class for youth will provide a plethora of material and guidance to create a mandala on a large vinyl record. Each participant will be encouraged to thoughtfully describe their experience in a creative art piece.

Rochester Dance Company presents two performances featuring scenes from Act II of Swan Lake and original performances to classic jazz greats, including Ella Fitzgerald, George Gershwin, & Cole Porter.

Rochester Dance Company was founded in 2003 and is noted for presenting the yearly holiday family classic "The Nutcracker" since 2003. These performances feature nearly 30 local Rochester area dancers ages 8-18.

Rochester Art Center is pleased to announce the second exhibition in their 2016 3rd Floor Emerging Artist Series, What to Do When Lost in the Woods—a mixed-media installation by Melissa Borman, a Minneapolis-based artist. Inspired by a 1946 US Forest Service leaflet, the installation consists of new and recent text-based work, large-scale photographs, Tyvek prints, paper takeaways, video, and altered, found branches from around the artists home, as well as the natural spaces around Rochester Art Center.
