SEMVA's Story:
Artists typically work alone, but in 1992, a small group of artists came together to start something that had little chance to succeed-- they opened a cooperative Art Gallery.
Setting aside their worries and "creative differences" they found an affordable empty storefront and went to work.
The SEMVA Art Gallery is now much more than simply a place for area artists to gain experience showing and selling their work. It has become a social hub where artists meet daily to share ideas, techniques, and opportunities, and more.

A Collier's Tuesday Tea combines the kitchen with the coal mine with an irreverent glance at D.H. Lawrence. All's Well that Ends As You Like It pushes the genius of the bard to its limits while filching lines from most of his plays. In all, cues are missed, effects fail and props are lost and confusion reigns, but the coarse actors struggle on.

Socaholix:
With the fury of a tropical hurricane, the Socaholix have burst onto the Minneapolis music scene. Comprised of former members of long-time Minneapolis favorite Shangoya, the band has familiar faces and fresh new singers. From Trinidad, Jamaica, The Congo, Tanzania, America and St. Croix, the line-up is truly international. Drawing from their vast musical backgrounds, the band delivers crowd pumping rhythms and energy sure to bring people to their feet for an all night soca party.
