Dancing for the Arts - Grant Information
The Greater Rochester Arts and Cultural Trust relies upon the expertise of a panel of recognized community funders to determine the funding of grant requests received for youth arts education.
To assist in the determination, the panel has a set of criteria which is as follows:
1. The requesting entity must be a 501 (c) 3 and supply an IRS letter of determination with its initial grant application. Future grant applications will then have the letter on file.
2. Provides a unique experience not provided in the Rochester public/private school system.
3. Greater Rochester applications are viewed as to extent of opportunity for inclusion of Rochester students and availability of funds.
4. Individual scholarships are not funded.
5. Consideration is given to the number of youth impacted, but there is also realization that some smaller programs could provide a unique opportunity.
6. New programs are given priority followed by expansion of existing programs.
7. Grants typically range between $250-$5000.

The Rochester International Airport seeks to provide exceptional Customer-First service by creating a unique traveling experience. This is accomplished by caring for each and every customer by providing an enhanced sense of place and connection. The Greater Rochester Arts and Cultural Trust enriches the greater Rochester community by ensuring the continued celebration, promotion and advocacy of the arts and humanities. These two entities are partnering to combine their goals in a program called "Arts Elevated at RST". The Arts Elevated program is an opportunity to provide an enhanced airport experience, lift spirits and provide comfort and care to customers through the dynamic showcasing of MN and regional artists. The showcasing of MN and regional artists will undoubtedly contribute to the Arts Elevated mission of enhancing sense of place and connection to the local community through a visual experience.
The Rochester International Airport (RST) is owned by the City of Rochester and operated by the Rochester Airport Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mayo Clinic. The Rochester International Airport is served daily by American Airlines and Delta Airlines. Seasonal air service is Sun Country Airlines. As an economic engine in our region, RST plays a significant role in economic development providing air service to major hubs and beyond to anywhere in the world. Local and visitor traffic from all over the world pass through RST. Passengers spend an average of 90 minutes inside the terminal.
Arts Elevated will showcase artists within the main terminal.
Artwork will be available for purchase with a commission paid to the Rochester International Airport to support the Arts Elevated program.

The mission of the Trust is "to enrich the greater Rochester area by ensuring the continued celebration, promotion and advocacy of the arts and humanities".
Programs/services include Dancing for the Arts (benefiting youth arts education), public art (Goose is Loose! and Life's a Bench!), The Fete/Ardee Awards (celebrating excellence in the Arts) and connecting resources for arts-related matters.

Ten Rochester celebrities practiced their dancing skills by pairing with professional dancers in the Greater Rochester Arts & Cultural Trust's "FUN-raising" event Dancing for the Arts, to benefit youth arts education and the programs/services of the Arts and Cultural Trust.
